Item Ref# CS8216 Anglo-Boere Oorlog Commemorative Plate
This plate was manufactured in the Netherlands to commemorate the contribution made by the Boervolk in the defence of their independant countries.
It depicts the two medals awarded to those who fought on the Boer's side, namely:
1) Dekoratie Voor Trouwe Dienst
These medals were instituted in terms of Government Notice No 2307 dated 21 December 1920, published in Goverment Gazette No 111 of 24 December 1920. The Anglo-Boere Oorlog (ABO) Medalje is the campaign medal for service in the cause of the Boer Republics and was awarded to all officers and other members of the Republican forces who served with those forces in the field anytime between 11 October 1899 and 31 May 1902, provided that that service was consistently loyal (ie allegiance to the Boer Republics had not been renounced at any time). |

If you see in a province the oppression of the poor and the violation of justice and righteousness, do not be amazed at the matter, for the high official is watched by a higher, and there are yet higher ones over them. Ecclesiastes 5:8 |
